Kansas City weather can be unpredictable and this time of year is no different. We’ve had so many rainy days we can’t even keep track! We’ve been planning an outdoor styled photo shoot with some awesome boss babes for about a month. We love working with other wedding vendors but we love it, even more, when they are women entrepreneurs succeeding and doing what they are most passionate about. So instead of waiting for the weather to cooperate, we decided to take a different approach to our scheduled photo shoot. An inspired old Hollywood Glam look.

Venue:

We found an amazing venue to work with… the name says it all… The Grand Hall KC. It’s Glamour, it’s Grande and it’s Stunning. The detail of this space and architecture is second to none.

Photography:

Our amazing photographer is a husband and wife duo. We got the pleasure to work with the very talented Marie with Lininger Rood Photography. They specialize in weddings but also does an array of different photography. We learned that Marie loves to shoot outdoors with the elements and can’t wait to work with her on future projects.

Makeup/ Model:

Makeup was done by the very lovely and talented Sarah Abby – She chose to do a bold red lip which we absolutely loved! She also modeled for us. Her wedding was 4 years, she recently had a baby 8 months ago and we loved that she was willing to play dress up and show off her amazing post-baby bod!

Hair:

We met Grace when she worked for Posh KC and now she has ventured off on her own to be an entrepreneur which we absolutely love and support! Glam By Grace. She does works with many brides on hair and makeup.

Floral: Our gorgeous floral arrangement we used for the shoot was provided by the lovely Katie at Inspiration in Bloom  – We asked for something pretty and romantic and she hit the nail on the head. Check out Inspiration in Bloom for all your floral wedding needs.

Dress:

When we opened the box and saw this stunning Sottero and Midgley Style# Shauna gown we just knew we had to do a styled shoot. We loved the beading and feather combination. Such a striking and unique gown. For that bride that is doing a glamours wedding, this dress is perfect!  Sottero and Midgley Style# Shauna retails for $1,900 and we have it on sale at Savvy Bridal $1,500 in a size 10, Ivory.

Second Dress: Our second gown we shot in was a Mon Cheri style #117196 retailing for $800. We didn’t plan for a second dress to shoot in but the weather was cooperating and we had this awesome alleyway by the boutique so we decided to take advantage. It’s a fully beaded gown. Super light weight and comfortable.
