European and Romantic Styled Shoot

Marie Rood of Lininger Rood Photography directed a drop dead gorgeous styled shoot a few weeks ago with one of her favorite gowns from Savvy Bridal. Marie is one of our favorite photographers at Savvy, and she always takes amazing photos of our gowns. This styled shoot was different than any others that our gowns have been featured in. The scene is very European and romantic. Marie shot these photos at Fort Leavenworth, an army base in Leavenworth, Kansas. Marie is lucky enough to work her day job on this gorgeous base, so she had been planning a shoot here for awhile. I asked Marie a few questions about her inspiration behind this styled shoot.

Inspiration

Q: Why did you decide on this location for your June Styled Shoot?

A: We decided on the location because we wanted the feel of France and Europe. This location is full of old buildings with old charm mixed with lace and the simplicity of a modern bride. Our theme was French style bridal.

Q: What was your favorite part of this shoot?

A: My favorite part of the shoot was the film images next to the yellow building with the black sconce. I felt like I was in France and the vision just came together! When we put the veil over her and the wind blew I literally died!

Q: What was the biggest challenge you faced during this shoot?

A: The hardest part of the day was the time we shot. The sun was so high that it was literally burning colors, so we didn’t get to shoot everything I wanted.

Q: How was it working with all of the different vendors involved with this shoot?

A: The vendors were amazing! It was really important that we found hair and makeup vendors that have worked with a diverse clientele. Our bride was mixed race and it was important to her and to keep her hair curly and not straighten it. Our hair vendor was on point and had experience with all hair types, as did the makeup artist.
